Bleeding gums after a deep scaling and polishing procedure are relatively common and may persist for a few days as the gums heal. However, if the bleeding is excessive, prolonged, or accompanied by severe pain or other symptoms, it's essential to consult with your dentist promptly. Here are a few steps you can take to help alleviate bleeding gums and promote healing: 1. Gentle Oral Hygiene: Continue to brush your teeth gently twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and floss daily. Be gentle around the areas that are bleeding to avoid further irritation. 2. Rinse with Saline Solution: Rinse your mouth with a warm saline solution (a mixture of salt and water) several times a day to help reduce inflammation and promote healing. 3. Avoid Aggressive Brushing: Avoid aggressive brushing or using a toothbrush with hard bristles, as this can further irritate the gums and exacerbate bleeding. 4. Follow Post-Procedure Instructions: Follow any post-procedure instructions provided by your dentist, including any prescribed medications or oral care recommendations. 5. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, as hydration can help support the healing process. 6. Avoid Smoking and Alcohol: Avoid smoking and alcohol, as they can delay healing and increase the risk of complications. 7. Monitor Symptoms: Keep an eye on the bleeding gums and monitor for any changes or worsening symptoms. If bleeding persists or worsens after a few days, contact your dentist for further evaluation and guidance. It's essential to give your gums time to heal after a deep scaling and polishing procedure. However, if you're concerned about the bleeding or experiencing severe pain or other symptoms, don't hesitate to reach out to your dentist for advice and further evaluation. They can assess the situation and provide appropriate recommendations to address your concerns.

Hello!!! After scaling, healing takes places in 10 to 14 days after which bleeding has to come down. Bleeding during and after scaling is considered normal, which is due to swollen gums. You can use Rexidine m-forte gel on your gums thrice daily for 15 days to reduce the bleeding and discomfort. Please make modifications in your brushing technique. Maintenance of oral hygiene plays a crucial role so that gum bleeding doesnt repeat in future.
Next Steps
If your scaling is complete, go for a recall after 10 to 14 days. If scaling has been planned in 2 or 3 sittings, please visit your doctor for the complete scaling. Use Rexidine m-forte gel on your gums as advised.
Health Tips
You dont havy to worry about this. The bleeding will subside!!!

It takes 5 to7 days for normal healing. Don't brush hard over your gums, give it time to heal and repair. If bleeding still persists visit your dentist for follow up.
