Surgical removal of the gum tissue which is hurting or I'm pinching and creating d foci for infection is must.  Evaluate the wisdom tooth,  whether it is aligned properly,  if yes operculectomy and curretarge will solve ur problem  . But it is out of alignment,  then advice u to remove ur wisdom tooth.  Laser  treatment not indicated  as chances of recurrence are more.

If tooth is erupting in correct alignment u can make a path for that by removing the gum covering it so that it will erupt easily. This procedure is called operculectomy It can be done by laser or manual. Infection is because of accumulation of food n debris
Health Tips
if the tooth is not in alignment better go for extraction of that particular tooth rather than the operculectomy

Sometimes the wisdom tooth creates pain and swelling while erupting. The gum which covers the tooth gets swollen up and due to the force of the erupting tooth, pain is caused. The basic method to relieve this pain is to do warm saline rinses, that is, rinsing with luke warm water with some salt in it. The next step will be cutting the gum with the help of laser which is a painless technique, the tooth will not grow after gum cutting. Cutting the gum will just expose the tooth in the mouth (the gum flap over the tooth makes a pocket which leads to food deposition between the tooth and the gum, causing inflamation)

Hi ! Taking each question at a time. 1. Gum flap surgery is for unhealthy swollen or recessive gums, or in cases of bleeding from gums. In such cases it is necessary. 2. Laser gum surgery can be done around any tooth, but the one you are talking about I presume is to remove the gum covering the wisdom tooth. 3. Infection occurs due to food lodgement around the tooth, or due to a pocket formed by an unerupted or partially erupted tooth, or by caries(decay) in the wisdom tooth itself. 4. Teeth eruption is not dependent on the gums as much as it is dependent on the space and bone available.
Next Steps
Please see an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who can assess whats the issue with the wisdom tooth, along with an X-ray so a proper diagnosis can be made.
Health Tips
Please do not go for Laser Gum Removal above the wisdom tooth (Operculectomy) as it is not a permanent solution and also chances of recurrence (Gum growing back) are very high. Wish you a pain-free treatment, Best Regards. Dr. Mohit Jain M.D.S., F.C.S. Oral And Maxillofacial Surgeon
