Gestational diabetes
Hi I am in 22 week I have gestational diabetes. My sugar level in the morning is between 91 to 100 and 1 hour after food is between 120 to 160. My level increases only on few days even after diet changes.
Is it ok to take metformin for a week twice daily for a week. 1000 mg split into two times. Morning and night after food. Please advice

Fasting sugar should be maintained less than 95 and 2 hours post lunch should be maintained less than 140
Beyond this you would require regular medication
