Better to avoid coffee, wheat items, oil fried food, spicy foods and even fermented foods. Have timely food with warm water and is easily digestible one. Take Amlapitta Mishrana 10ml twice daily before food, Sooktyn tablet thrice daily with water after food.

I understand 🙏. GERD (acid reflux with burning, regurgitation, or lump-like sensation in the throat = *globus pharyngeus*) is very common when **Pitta is aggravated and Vata is disturbed** in the upper GIT. Ayurveda can help control it and restore balance. --- ## 🌿 Ayurvedic View * Condition corresponds to **Amlapitta** and sometimes **Urdhwaga Amlapitta**. * Main issues: excess acid (Pitta), upward movement of Vata, weak digestion (Mandagni). * Goal: **pacify Pitta**, strengthen Agni, soothe oesophagus, and reduce inflammation. --- ## ✅ Remedies & Medicines (general, to be confirmed by a vaidya) 1. **Herbal Medicines** (commonly used in GERD/acid reflux) * ****Churna* – 1 tsp with warm water before meals (reduces acidity). * *****Ras (without gold)* – 1 tab with ghee or honey, once/twice daily. * *****Ras* – with amla/ghee, reduces Pitta. * ****Rasayana* or *****churna* (mild dose at night) – for long-term balance. * *****churna* (Licorice powder) – ½ tsp with warm milk, soothes throat & heals oesophageal lining. 2. **Home Remedies** * Chew 4–5 *soaked almonds* when burning starts. * Drink *cold milk* or *buttermilk with a pinch of cumin* after meals. * *Tender coconut water* daily is excellent. * ½ tsp *ghee* on empty stomach in morning can help pacify Pitta. 3. **Diet (Ahaar)** * Favour: warm, light meals, rice, wheat, moong dal, cooked vegetables, ghee, buttermilk, coriander, fennel, cumin, amla. * Avoid: spicy, fried, sour, fermented foods (pickle, vinegar, tomato, curd at night, citrus), excess tea/coffee. * Small, frequent meals → don’t keep stomach empty for too long. 4. **Lifestyle (Vihar)** * Don’t lie down immediately after meals (wait 2–3 hours). * Elevate head while sleeping (2–3 inches). * Reduce late nights, stress, excessive screen exposure (increases Vata-Pitta). * Gentle yoga: *Vajrasana* after meals, *Shitali pranayama*, *Anulom Vilom*. Avoid strong forward bends. --- ## ⚠️ When to be cautious * If you have persistent pain, weight loss, difficulty swallowing, vomiting blood, or black stools → get an immediate GI evaluation to rule out complications. --- ✨ With 2–3 months of **Pitta-pacifying diet + simple medicines like ***, ***, and *****, most people feel major relief. Would you like me to create a **day-wise simple Ayurvedic routine (diet + medicine + yoga)** specially for your GERD, so you can follow it step by step? Advice- self medication is hazardous, always consult ayurvedic doctor before taking ayurvedic medicine. Consult me personally for details.

“That lump-like feeling in the throat is a common symptom in acidity/GERD, and it usually happens due to irritation from reflux, not because of an actual lump. If you don’t feel or see any swelling outside the neck, it’s mostly due to acidity only. Ayurveda has safe ways to improve digestion and reduce this sensation. Still, if you notice any real swelling in the neck, it’s better to get it checked once to rule out other causes. Namaste, From an Ayurvedic perspective, your symptoms of acidity, GERD, and lump-like sensation in the throat are generally linked with Amlapitta (excessive Pitta imbalance) and Urdhwaga Amlapitta. The burning, reflux, and discomfort occur due to aggravated Pitta and disturbed digestion (Agni).
Next Steps
Diet: Avoid spicy, oily, fried, fermented, and sour foods. Take light, easily digestible meals. Include boiled vegetables, khichdi, lauki, pumpkin, and pomegranate. • Lifestyle: Do not skip meals, avoid lying down immediately after food, take dinner early (2–3 hours before sleep). Practice stress-relieving techniques like pranayama (Anulom Vilom, Sheetali).
Health Tips
Home Remedies: • Take 1 tsp of licorice (Mulethi) powder with warm water once daily. • Drink cold milk or fresh coriander leaf juice to reduce burning. • Aloe vera pulp (2 tsp before meals) can soothe acid reflux.

Female - 32 years * GERD and Acidity * Since when (?) * Endoscopy reports (?) * In Ayurveda, GERD and ACIDITY, It's actually due to disturbances caused by SAMANA VATA and PACHAKA PITTA in the stomach area. * The undigested food material or acidic content is flowing back from stomach to oesophagus. * This continuous refluxion of acidic content causes heartburn, acidity, Hoarseness of voice, chest pain etc., * Now the treatments in Ayurveda in this condition goes like this -       ** Correcting the Upward movement of Samana Vata by Vataanulomana.      ** By pacifying Aggaravated Pitta by giving Pitta alleviating medications. * Right now, Please take Hingwastaka churnam (Main Vatahara property) with first bolus of your food mixed with ghee and remaining food to be taken with curries or whatever u have. Prevention - * Avoid having heavy diet, Bakery items, Oily foods, Tea, Coffee, More spicy food items, Avoid food that is causing uncomfortable for you, cool items, fridge items, masala items, night storaged food items etc., * Just change ur diet and see. * Having Kanji (Ganji), Light food, avoid sleeping immediately after taking food, have some compatible foods that suits your body and to your mind. * For further clarification, please consult near by AYURVEDA PHYSICIAN to help u ease with your condition.
