Sir, I am 33 years old and have been having irregular bowel movements for more than 6 months. I pass stool only once every 2–3 days and the quantity is very small. Sometimes I go to toilet daily but I pass very small amount of stool.I don’t feel fully relieved after passing stool, though the stool is not hard.
I feel fullness in my throat as if something stuck in my throat, before /after meal or any time.I don't feel burning sensation in my throat or chest.I don't feel hungry most of the time.
I drink warm water every morning and exercise 4–5 days a week.
I am not under any medication...I don't have any of other problems. What should I do/take now . please suggest me sir

Clinically look like
Dyspepsia and Severe constipation
My suggestion : can try
1) Esomeprqzole D once daily Before breakfast for 2 weeks
2)Laxative ( Cremaffin plus 15 mL after dinner as Sos)
Investigation:
Blood for FT 3 , FT4 , TSH
Plan : Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy if no improvement
From your symptoms of passing the stools once in every 2-3 days with low stool output and not fully releived after stool looks more like functional constipation than irritable bowel syndrome - constipation type.
Next Steps
u need to increase the fiber intake and adequate water intake and avoid straining in the toilet.take stimulant laxative like bisacodyl tablets 1-2or senna 10-15 ml mixed with water taken at bed time . if not improved kindly consult a medical gastroenterologist .u also need to take adequate amount of fresh fruits and vegetables and avoid taking hard foods like non vegdiet atleast 6 months.
Need few more details for proper understanding of your issue.
You can consult with me online on Practo or whatsapp on eight three one eight four six nine eight eight six for proper diagnosis, conclusion and management
1. Dietary Fiber Management
Since the stool is not hard, the goal is bulk, not just softening.
Soluble Fiber: Focus on oats, peeled fruits, and carrots.
Psyllium Husk (Isabgol): Taking 1–2 teaspoons with a full glass of water at night can help create a more "complete" stool, addressing the feeling of incomplete evacuation.
2. Hydration and Movement
Increase Water Intake: Aim for 3 liters daily. Fiber requires significant water to work; without it, fiber can actually worsen the "fullness" feeling.
Timed Training: Try to sit on the toilet at the same time every morning (preferably after your warm water) to take advantage of the gastrocolic reflex.
3. Addressing the Throat Fullness
Smaller, Frequent Meals: To reduce the pressure that causes the "stuck" feeling in the throat.
Stress Management: Globus sensation is highly linked to the nervous system. Diaphragmatic breathing exercises can help relax both the throat and the gut.
You are 33 years old with:
• Stool once every 2–3 days
• Small quantity stool
• Incomplete evacuation feeling
• Stool not hard
• Throat fullness / lump sensation
• Poor appetite
• No burning sensation
This pattern most strongly suggests:
Functional constipation with IBS-C pattern
± Globus sensation related to anxiety or silent reflux (LPR)
Important observations:
• Stool not hard → not typical severe constipation
• Small quantity + incomplete relief → rectal evacuation dysfunction or IBS
• Throat fullness without burning → very commonly Globus pharyngeus (functional throat sensation)
• Poor appetite → often linked with gut motility slowing
This does not immediately suggest serious disease if:
• No blood in stool
• No weight loss
• No anemia
• No severe pain
Most likely this is a gut–brain axis motility issue, not structural blockage.
Next Steps
Step 1: Improve Gut Motility (Most Important)
Start:
✔ Isabgol (psyllium husk) – 1 tablespoon in warm water at night daily
✔ Increase total water intake to 2.5–3 liters/day
Do this for minimum 4 weeks.
⸻
Step 2: Add Osmotic Support (If Needed)
If not improved in 2 weeks:
✔ PEG powder (Movicol / Cremaffin Plus / Lactulose) at night
This improves stool bulk and evacuation.
⸻
Step 3: Rule Out Basic Causes
You already exercise and drink warm water — good.
Consider checking (if not done recently):
• TSH
• Serum Vitamin D
• Serum B12
• Hb
If symptoms persist > 3 months despite fiber, consult gastroenterologist for:
• Colonoscopy (only if red flag signs present)
• Anorectal manometry (if outlet dysfunction suspected)
Health Tips
For Bowel:
✔ Fixed toilet timing daily (even if urge absent)
✔ Do not strain
✔ Add soaked black raisins or kiwi
✔ Squatting posture (foot stool under feet)
✔ Increase natural fiber: vegetables, oats, flaxseed
⸻
For Throat Fullness:
Most common cause:
• Stress
• Silent reflux
• Gas pressure from abdomen
Try:
✔ Small frequent meals
✔ Avoid lying down after eating
✔ Avoid very spicy/oily food
✔ Early dinner
If persistent:
Trial of PPI for 4 weeks may help.
⸻
Is It Serious?
At your age, with no alarming symptoms,
this is usually functional and reversible.
Improvement takes 4–8 weeks of consistent routine.
⸻
If you tell me:
• Any weight loss?
• Any blood or mucus in stool?
• Do you feel anxious frequently?
• Does fullness worsen when stressed?
I can refine diagnosis further.
Most cases like yours improve significantly with structured bowel retraining and fiber therapy.
Take more of fresh green leafy vegetables, fruits like papaya, orange. Avoid fatty, spicy food. Drink more water. Avoid eating late in the evening.
Take syp Dupahalac 5ml morning and evening for about a week.
Tab pantaprazole 40mg one daily before breakfast for a week.
Continue physical exercise.
Consult online for further guidance, after adopting above measures.
As you are feeling this since 6 months- it could be rectal dyssynergia which means your rectal muscles and nerve coordination is not proper….
So get one - MR defecography and anorectal manometry done
Till then take laxatives-
Sachet laxopeg 17 gm po bd
Your symptoms suggest a functional bowel issue, most likely chronic constipation with incomplete evacuation and associated functional dyspepsia / globus sensation (feeling of something stuck in throat). This is commonly linked to gut motility disturbance, stress, diet pattern, and gastric gas.
Next Steps
Drink 2.5–3 liters water daily
Add fiber: oats, fruits (papaya, banana), vegetables, flaxseed
Eat small frequent meals
Avoid overeating, tea on empty stomach, spicy & fried foods
Avoid lying down immediately after meals
Limit carbonated drinks
Continue exercise ✔
Add 15–20 min brisk walking after meals
Manage stress & sleep properly

Next Steps
Please consult me so I can evaluate you properly and guide you with the right treatment plan.
Dear Patient,
Your symptoms of passing small quantity stool incomplete evacuation every 2 to 3 days reduced hunger and throat fullness sensation are commonly seen with functional constipation and gut motility disturbance often associated with acidity gas or stress related digestive changes. The sensation of something stuck in throat without burning is often due to reflux related throat irritation or globus sensation which is usually benign.
Since stool is not hard but quantity is small it suggests slow bowel movement or incomplete emptying rather than severe constipation.
What you should do
Increase dietary fiber through fruits vegetables oats and whole grains
Drink 2.5 to 3 liters of water daily
Continue regular exercise and add abdominal breathing exercises
Avoid long gaps between meals and include small frequent meals
Limit tea coffee spicy and processed foods
Do not strain excessively during bowel movement
Medicines that may help
Mild stool regulator such as ispaghula husk at night with water
Probiotic for gut health
Acidity medicine such as pantoprazole before breakfast for few weeks if throat symptoms persist
consult me if
Persistent symptoms beyond few weeks despite treatment
Weight loss severe abdominal pain vomiting or blood in stool
Difficulty swallowing or progressive throat symptoms
Most patients improve with diet correction gut regulation and acidity control.
For further guidance and personalized treatment you may consult me online anytime.
