Two weeks of gas, acidity, left-sided stomach pain after eating or even drinking water, and pain disturbing sleep is more than routine acidity â this needs proper evaluation. Left-sided abdominal pain after food can be gastritis, peptic ulcer, or colonic issues. Pain on drinking even water suggests significant mucosal irritation. A PPI (proton pump inhibitor) taken 30 minutes before meals can help reduce acid and give relief, but the underlying cause needs to be identified if symptoms persist beyond 2 weeks of treatment.
Next Steps
See a physician or gastroenterologist in person â at 2 weeks with sleep disturbance, you need a clinical examination. An upper GI endoscopy may be needed to rule out an ulcer. In the meantime, take a PPI before breakfast as per doctor's advice, eat small bland meals, and avoid spicy/oily food and caffeine. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
