Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. I understand your concern. Antibiotics can sometimes cause diarrhea or upset stomach by disturbing the normal gut bacteria. This is called antibiotic-associated diarrhea and usually resolves in a few days, but sometimes it can persist. General Advice: Continue taking probiotics (like Sporlac) and include curd, buttermilk, or fermented foods in your diet. Eat small, bland meals (rice, khichdi, bananas) and avoid spicy, oily, or very fatty foods. Stay well-hydrated to prevent dehydration. What to monitor / when to worry: Diarrhea lasting more than a week Blood in stool or black tarry stools Severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, or high fever Next Steps: If symptoms persist beyond a week or worsen, consult your doctor. They may advise stool tests to rule out infection and guide further treatment. You can connect with me on Practo or WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for personalized advice. Best regards, Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician

Your symptoms are likely due to antibiotics disturbing the stomach bacteria (antibiotic-associated diarrhea). Continue probiotics/curd and keep yourself well hydrated with ORS, soups, coconut water. Eat light, non-spicy food. Avoid taking antibiotics without a doctor’s prescription, as they can cause such problems. If loose motions persist beyond 7–10 days, or you develop blood in stool, severe pain, or dehydration, please see a doctor in person.
Next Steps
Take pantoprazole tab. After meals. Give your gut some rest and only take light food like khichdi. Dont consume alcohol. Focus on hydration
Health Tips
Avoid self-medicating with antibiotics in the future. Antibiotics should only be taken when prescribed by a qualified doctor, as unnecessary use can cause side effects like diarrhea, resistance, and reduced effectiveness when truly needed.
