Does flap surgery comes under cosmetic ?
My insurer says it is a OPD procedure and meant for beautification/aesthetic.
Please guide.

Hello sir, flap surgery is a Needful when required.Its not by choice.It will prevent loss of gums and bone. So it's Preventive,Corrective ,Restoring oral health.You must get it done even if your insurance covers or not...Take care.

No dear ,flap surgery is not an aesthetic procedure,its actually done whenever u have problems with your gums like bleeding,pus,loose teeth,etc.But yes its an intraday procedure done under local anesthesia and u don't have to admit for that.

It is a type of Gum surgery which is done to improve the overall Gum health..

Flap surgery is done for many reasons. Cosmetic correction is just one of them. But to the best of my understanding dental procedures are still not covered under most insurance plans available in India. Some of the major surgical procedures of the Jaws are still covered but you need to check with your insurance provider for the best opinion.
