Fibromyalgia is condition which includes widespread symptoms like generalised body pain, fatigue, mood disorders, poor sleep.. it is clinical diagnosis to exclude other conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, neurological disorders and mental health problems. It may occur alone or along with other disorders.
Latest diagnostic criteria
1. Widespread pain lasting more then 3 months
2.other symptoms like fatigue, waking up tired , trouble thinking
3. No underlying other conditions that can cause above symptoms
Next Steps
patient should consult a orthopaedics or rheumatologist to get some Investigations done to exclude other cause like rheumatoid arthritis , mood disorders . thyroid function, vitamin D levels etc
