Fever and cold
Hi. Daughter 5 yr old having fever since 12th aug and cold too. Doc gave meftagesic 4 times 5ml, taxim o 2 time 5 ml, piriton cs 5 ml 3 times , one bit b complex syrup 5ml 3 times. 3 days over. Taxim o is empty. Temp reduced from 101 to 99. But still cold is there and she is warm. She is not much active. How to proceed . Pls advice

as u already mention child is not much active than ...definatly some pathology going on.. so next step will be base line blood test... at least complete blood count platlet and rapid malaria antigen test

Hi, we need to do some tests, for dengue typhoid and possibly Malaria so that we are able to find the actual cause of your daughters symptoms

If he's afebrile and still full,the cough medicine could be the cause,because all cause some sedation. If mild,avoid unnecessary medicine and just give steam inhalations for cold and cough and decongestant nasal drops for nasal block or increased cough on lying down. Use paracetamol for fever if required. Tests are needed if fever persists beyond 5 days of continuous fever OR child is VERY sick. In that case,please consult your paediatrician.
