Feeling Sad and Depressed
I am living alone, away from my family in Chennai. My wife is expecting, she is due in February 2022 and i have only been with her for 2 months untill now. I have lost 3 relatives and 2 school mates, witnessing 5 deaths in 6 months. I dont enjoy anything or want to do anything. Eat once a day because its needed but i don't feel hungry. I have been in shift duty for more than 05 years now and every week with different wake up, sleeping, eating time is killing me. Nothing makes me happy. Mentally and physically i always feel exhausted, tired and like crying. Am i suffering from depression ? What to do about it ?

1. Take care of yourself - make sure your physical needs are met because if you aren't healthy, it will be harder to deal with problems. This includes eating well, sleeping enough, and exercising regularly. 2. Find a good listener–sometimes just talking about what's bothering you can help ease depression or stress. If family members are too close to the situation, try finding another friend who can listen without being judgmental or offering advice unless asked for it. 3. Give yourself time for reflection.–take 10 minutes each day away from the people and things that trigger your stress to think about how you're feeling and what's making you happy or unhappy. It can also help to write in a journal - this is therapeutic for many people. 4. Don't isolate yourself - sometimes it's hard to see other people when you are stressed or depressed, but avoiding friends will only make the situation worse. Try to get together with other people who care about you regularly. 5. Keep something that makes you laugh nearby - use whatever helps you feel good immediately, whether that's watching your favourite TV show, cooking your favourite meal, or playing music that revs up your energy level or mood. 6. Be willing to try new things–if you're always doing what felt comfortable in the past, consider trying something different just for fun once in a while. Even if it doesn't work out so well, being open to exploring new experiences can be a good way to shake up a routine that is getting you down. 7. Breaking a sweat–even if it isn't fun at first, working out has been shown to have surprising mood-boosting power. Even just 20 minutes of exercise can increase your body's feel-good chemicals and help lift your mood, especially if you're feeling sluggish or depressed. 8. Take time for yourself–sometimes taking on too much means we don't take enough time to recharge our batteries and relax. Try going for a short walk around the block by yourself, reading a book in the park, going fishing, meditating, or doing anything else that makes you feel calmer and more relaxed. 9. Learn what brings your stress level down–it isn't the same for everyone. Each person has his or her own strategies. For some people, exercise is a stress reliever; for others, meditation helps. And don't forget simple things like taking deep breaths and getting enough sleep. 10. Find something to laugh about - life will always have its difficulties, but sometimes we need to use humour as a way of coping with those challenges. It's hard not to be happy when you're laughing!

Loneliness can aggrevate the symtoms of depression. You need to connect with yourself and family. Go home . Before going home look for a job and start living together.
