Fatty liver
I was feeling pain on my liver side so i went for ultrasound, it showed grade 1-2 fatty liver changes. So i went for fibroscan, it says CAP 174 and KPA 3.3 Doctor who did fibroscan said no fatty liver. Whose report should I consider? I do feel i have gas and mild constipation running because I'm taking ferrous ascorbate supplement for iron. Can this be the cause of pain randomly? Why there is a difference in ultrasound and fibroscan?

A CAP score of 174 dB/m and a liver stiffness of 3.3 kPa mean your liver has no significant fat accumulation (S0 grade, normal fat content) and no significant scarring or fibrosis (F0–F1 stage, normal elasticity). These results point to a healthy liver. Understanding the Numbers 1. CAP Score 174 dB/m (Controlled Attenuation Parameter): a) Measures fat in the liver. b) Normal/healthy range is typically below 220 or 238 dB/m (Grade S0). c) 174 dB/m is well below the threshold for fatty liver disease. 2. KPA 3.3 kPa (Kilopascals): a) Measures liver stiffness, which indicates scarring or fibrosis. b) Normal healthy liver tissue generally ranges from 2 to 7 kPa. c) 3.3 kPa falls squarely in the normal range (Stage F0), meaning the liver is soft and elastic with no notable scarring. So your liver has no significant fat accumulation (S0 grade, normal fat content) and no significant scarring or fibrosis (F0–F1 stage, normal elasticity). These results point to a healthy liver. Next, the pain on your liver side (left or right?) is most probably due to gastritis.

Trust the fibroscan — it's more accurate and quantitative. CAP 174 is well within normal (fatty liver starts at >248), and KPA 3.3 is normal (no fibrosis). Ultrasound can overestimate mild fatty changes. Your liver is essentially fine. The right-side pain and gas are very likely from the ferrous ascorbate supplement — iron can cause GI irritation, constipation, and referred abdominal discomfort.
Next Steps
Take ferrous ascorbate with food or switch to a gentler iron form (ferrous bisglycinate). Add isabgol for constipation. Maintain a healthy diet and weight for the liver. Consult me on Practo for any further queries.
