You should do Quadriceps and Hamstring stretching and strengthening exercises with proper guidance. You should drink 8-10 glasses of water every day. You should take tender coconut, banana in alternate days.

Maybe you are mistaking pain for cramp. However if it is cramp do the above mentioned things. Magnesium level drop could also bring on  cramp. But if it is pain, observe if you have pain going up or coming down stairs. This could then be an issue under your knee cap or other meniscus issues.
