If the episiotomy is given properly then you can sleep in any position, it should not make any difference. Most of the trouble starts if the episiotomy is not planned properly.
Washing of the area with warm diluted antiseptic lotion ( betadine, dettol, savlon) after each visit to toilet , and local application of betadine or metrogyl or soframycin ointment twice a day is adequate.
Episiotmy ! Practice two times a day seidtz bath. In a basin of warm water add povidone solution and sit in the basin to allow the episiotomy area to be immersed for 8 to 10 mins daily..pat dry and can use betadine cream along suture line. Five to 7 days.
Do not sit with crossed legs
Take Sitz bath - sit in a tub with warm water and antiseptic
Do not touch the area and keep the area Dry
Clean it after urination and passing stools
You can sleep in left lateral or in supine position
