Hi,
I'm 27 weeks pregnant. In my last consultation, my gynecologist said that 99% of the first time mothers have to go through an episiotomy.
Is there no way to normally deliver without an episiotomy?

There are ways to have a normal delivery without an episiotomy but in that case you should be prepared for an ugly looking ragged perineal tear which will be difficult to stitch and the healing will be poor.
You should remember that you asked for it. So don't blame your Gynaecologist.
