Hi. I have had an elbow surgery 4 months ago. I have been taking good amount of calcium supplements everyday. Do I still need to continue taking them? The rods and plates in my elbow will be removed after 2 years. So do I have to keep taking milk and other calcium foods till the removal of implants?

u have to do elbow ROM exercises for flexion, extension, supination, pronation.
do hand gripper to restore muscle strength of your elbow and hand and fingers.
You should consult Physiotherapist for getting back all your elbow movements and solving your problems. The calcium has already done it's work.

No need to take any calcium supplements. They have no role in fracture healing. Good quality plates will not cause any problems.
Concentrate on physio to get active movements now. All the best.
calcium supplements are not necessary. Take them if and only if your blood serum calcium levels are low. and are advised to take the, or if your bone mineral density is low.
Next Steps
you may discontinue the supplement if your blood serum levels show Normal calcium levels
