Double tooth on same root
Nhi Doctor, My daughter is having two teeth on same root on front side 1st left tooth root. Teeth are fully grown and approx 1 year old. Before one year she had lost her tooth naturally and after that two teeth grown at same place. Front outside tooth is normal but its direction is some out side of mouth due to second tooth which is growing its backside. Second inner tooth is 90 degree perpendicular to first tooth and now its touching her tongue when she speaks. pls suggest that 1. she need surgery or second tooth will fall with time, 2. Her first outer tooth need to bracing or surgery to fix it own place so it can't come out from her lips, 3. If surgery required can we postpone it for 6 months, due to current scenario fear. Pls see enclosed pics of tooth for better clarity. Thanks in advance,

The inner tooth is a supernumerary tooth called mesiodens which is erupted inside. It can be removed and you can go for ortho treatment to correct the alignment of upper tooth. Also she is having cavity in her Ist primary molar of both sides.  Please take care of that too
Next Steps
1.Extracting the inner tooth 2. ortho treatment to correct alingnment 3. Filling the carious primary molar
Health Tips
Can go for flouride varnish to prevent further cavities.

Hello, First of all, thes are two different teeth, not same. 1. The second tooth will have to be removed surgically. It won't fall off on its own. 2. Yes, she would need braces for alignment of her upper teeth. I would suggest that only after all her permanent teeth are out, around 12-13 years of age. 3. You can definitely postpone the surgery for another 6 months, unless your daughter is having any serious problem because of it.

It's highly unlikely that both teeth have one root unless your dentist told you so. The one on the inside looks like an extra tooth called a supernumerary tooth with a separate root. This has to be confirmed with a radiograph. If the sharp tooth is disturbing her tongue, you can get it removed as soon as possible than wait. Else you may wait but only due to the current situation.  Such treatments are best done as early as possible. The tooth in front would move behind a little with lip pressure. She can go for braces and correction at 12 years of age. She has 2 decayed teeth which would fall off but the bacteria can spread to other teeth before that and cause pain.ots better to get them filled too.

Acc to picture it's a case of supernumerary tooth. But without xray nothing could be said properly. After xray done treatment will be accordingly.extraction of supernumerary could be delayed for 6 months but this picture showing carious other two deciduous (milk)teeth from which caries may spread to other permanent tooth also. That's why it's better to visit nearby dental clinic asap.

First of all get an opg (X-ray) done and in case it’s an supernumerary (extra) tooth, it has to be removed or else orthodontic treatment might be required.
Next Steps
Visit your dental surgeon asap.
