Double Marker Tst with intermediate risk
Hi, I am 35 ,1st preg natural conception. My NT scan and double marker test was done at 12 wks 5dy. NT scan report - CRL 69.9mm, NT- 1.30mm, nasal bone present, all fetal anatomy visible and normal, T21 Adjusted risk 1:4737, Uterine Artery doppler mean PI 2.55, NT scan says normal with low aspirin dose advise. Double marker Test - Intermediate risk free beta hcg - 1.660 MoM PAPP-A -0.341 MoM T21 adjusted risk 1:578 Treating doctor has advised Ecosprin 150 and consultation with fetal med specialist and discuss for NIPT and Amneocentesis. Could you suggest if it is really worrisome report.

The confirmation can't come at this stage. You should wait for further tests which will be done after about 6 weeks. NIPT at this stage will also give doubtful results. Amniocentesis is not possible at 12 weeks. Chorionic villous sampling can help in the diagnosis but it can also lead to an abortion. So you should wait for further tests after 6 weeks. Then things can be clear.

Double marker has low sensitivity and specificity Go for NIPT If NIPT shows low risk then noth to worry

Hello, even if you go for NIPT, if comes positive, for confirmation you have to go for Amniocentesis again. Let's discuss this in very detail. I have few patients just like you.

The intermediate risk in double marker test needs further evaluation Double marker is only a  screening test So is nipt you need a diagnostic test aminocentesis
