DOG BITE SITE PAINING
Hello Doctor,
I got dog bite 3 months ago at my left calf . Immediately I went to near by hospital and received TT and Rabivax-s vaccine and completed the all doses . Wound has healed completely and having just white marks of that . I could see dog is alive now.
Now my problem is that I am getting itching at around dog bite site ,Some times little pain as well. I am worrying after reading of rabies symptoms and that thought killing me daily.
Kindly help me to know that am I safe from rabies? Do I need to take any treatment/tests .Please let me know doctor.

Hi, you have completed your treatment course so you shouldn’t take stress. You are safe. Sometimes skin around the bite site do not heal properly and become more prone to itching and infection.
I would suggest clean it with soap and water twice a day.
Apply ice pack at the bite site for about 15-20 mins at least 2-3 times a day for few days.
If experiencing pain just take Tab. Voveran SR 75 prn as needed
