If you have multiple bulging discs with back pain and leg pain then it is important to look at a recent MRI scan before deciding on a line of treatment. If there is nerve compression or narrowing in the spine then depending on the level of compression just physiotherapy may not help you. You need to see a Spinal Surgeon for proper assessment. Also losing weight, if you are overweight will help. Maintaining a correct posture and staying mobile and active will help. Hope this helps Dr Vinu Raj Consultant Spine Surgeon MBBS MRCS FRCS(Trauma&Orth)
Next Steps
Consultation with a Spinal Surgeon for assessment.

I recommend you to meet a manipulative physiotherapist to assess you and suggest you positions to relieve your pain and ghen start strengthening.. It is not advisable to do exercises in pain... Can perform gentle stretches for your low back and gluteus... Frequent icing reduced the spasm and help you to relieve pain Hope this is helpful for you.. Kindly revert back in case you need further clarification...
