Dental crown pain!
Is it possible for a dental crown gum pain to radiate in the whole area of that side of cheek or cause constant cheek biting? Iam unable to identify the cause of my pain/ irritation, but the gums around dental crown are sore and i feel uncomfortable! I feel like removing that crown and leaving the area empty for sometime! Is there some dental tool to place on cap till the time i get a new cap? Like a mock cap?

Yes, it is possible for gum pain around a dental crown to radiate to the surrounding areas, including the cheek. This can happen if the crown is not properly fitted or if there is irritation or inflammation of the gums around the crown. Constant cheek biting can also occur if the crown is not aligned properly with the opposing teeth or if there are bite discrepancies. This can cause discomfort and irritation in the surrounding tissues. If you are experiencing discomfort and soreness in the gums around the dental crown, it is advisable to consult with your dentist. They will be able to examine the crown and the surrounding tissues to determine the cause of the pain and provide appropriate treatment. In some cases, the crown may need adjustment or replacement if it is causing persistent gum irritation. Your dentist can assess the fit and alignment of the crown and make the necessary adjustments or recommend a new crown if required. While waiting for a new crown or dental treatment, it is not recommended to leave the area empty as this can lead to further issues, such as tooth sensitivity or movement of the adjacent teeth. It is best to keep the area protected and maintain the proper alignment of your bite. Your dentist may be able to provide a temporary solution, such as placing a temporary crown or a dental splint, to provide relief and protect the area until the permanent crown can be placed. Discussing your concerns and options with your dentist will help determine the best course of action to alleviate your discomfort and maintain the integrity of your dental structures.

Yes, it is possible for pain to radiate to the entire affected side. Improperly fabricated crown without proper occlusion also lead to recurrent cheek biting. If your gum around the crowned tooth is sore, that could be the offending tooth! Please consult an endodontist for further evaluation and proper examination to determine the exact cause. You may also require an X-ray to check if your tooth beneath the crown is infected and causing you trouble or if three's another reason to your problem. There may be an indication of RCT/ Re-RCT or may be simply removing the crown and replacing it with a well fabricated crown/ tooth cap may solve your problem.

First of all As per ur symptoms .. Pain and swelling around the tooth with dental crown Must be because of two reasons 1.Dental crown must be I’ll fitting , There must be spaces between crown and adjacent tooth leading to Food lodgement and which has lead to gum infection/abscess . 2. Failure if Root canal treatment and Reinfection. Pain sometimes radiates to other parts of face or neck on that side
Next Steps
Go to near by dentist and get an X-ray done
Health Tips
1.If tooth is firm and infected coz of failure in rct ,you can go for ReRct 2. If only gums are affected ,get the cap removed ,go for localised scaling and curettage and don’t go for capping till the pain and swelling comes down . 3.once the symptoms come down ,go for a cap which is precise without any gaps to avoid future infections

You must visit the dentist as a thorough physical examination, an Xray examination would help to rule out the exact cause of the discomfort. Because there may exist multiple reasons for this, such as some adjustments in the crown, or an issue with the RCT treated tooth or insufficient oral hygiene maintenance.
Next Steps
Visit a dentist as soon as possible and get a correct diagnosis done.

Go for xray. Maybe your teeth requires rct. Without knowing the cause of pain your problems will not subside.
