Delay in periods
Hello doctor, I'm reaching out on behalf of my girlfriend. She is extremely panicked and absolutely terrified about a possible pregnancy, so we need your guidance
Here is her exact medical timeline:
7th July: Her natural periods started.
11th July: We were intimate (there was NO direct ejaculation inside).
12th July (11:00 AM): She took an i-Pill as a precaution.
17th July: She experienced withdrawal bleeding.
22nd August & 26th August: We did Urine Pregnancy Tests on BOTH these dates, and BOTH were COMPLETELY NEGATIVE (Strictly a single line on 'C' both times).
Today is 27th August (41 days since the withdrawal bleeding) and her periods still haven't arrived. The pelvic cramps she had earlier have stopped, but now she is experiencing some liquidy/watery discharge.
Could you please guide us on what medication she can take to induce her periods and reset her cycle? Your reassurance and prescription will save her from this extreme mental torture."

You were intimate on 11 July. If during the last 45 days that was the only date on which you were intimate (and if she had conceived that day) then the urine pregnancy test would definitely be positive after 1 August. If the test was negative on 22 and 26 August then she is certainly not pregnant.
For more assurance you can get her blood Beta HCG levels done.
For further management regarding the inducing of an artificial cycle please consult with a Gynaecologist.

Please reassure her first. Panic and stress by themselves can delay a period by a week or more, and this is very common at her age. The right way to know for sure is not to guess. If it has been more than 7 days past her expected period, take a home pregnancy test with the first morning urine. These are around 99% accurate at that stage, and a negative result almost always means she is not pregnant.
Next Steps
Do the home pregnancy test with first morning urine on day 7 of the delay. If unprotected intercourse was recent and no emergency contraception was taken within 72 hours, take the test now and repeat after a week if the first is negative. If she is confirmed not pregnant but the period is still delayed beyond 6 weeks, a gynaecologist can identify the underlying cause.

If pregnancy test is negative then the delayed is due to side effects of pill.
