Deep scaling causes pits.
For gum inflammation i did deep scaling for 2 quadrants as prescribed by doctor. But i can see pits and scratches in teeth. Felt the instrument causes scratches and pits in teeth also. Not saying about gaps. As i aware gap will be visible during deep scaling. Scared to do deep scaling on other side. Shall i avoid this? Is there any other remedy to gaps caused.

Generally an ultrasonic machine is used for scaling and there isn't any possibility for tooth damage. In fact the procedure is part of dental hygiene and health. We at our clinic in Chennai do routine scaling which is not at all a problem and my patients are very happy without any grievance. If u want more elaborate discussions u may consult thro Practo Consult.

Kindly donot worry, these fissures as you interpret are nothing but just a roughness felt after scaling, they will disappear once the final polishing is done.
