Dead tooth!
My 3year old son fell down and his front tooth is turning gray. His pediatrician told it's a dead tooth. Is there any remedy to whiten that dead tooth? I'm  really worried as it looks bad. Thank u in advance.

As your child is only 3years it's the milk tooth(deciduous)and permanent will come after they fall... If there is a discoloration get a x-ray done... Pulpectomy with crown placement will save the tooth until the permanent erupts

What is the age of child? If its a milk tooth then I will shed eventually. If causing any infection then RCT or extraction should be done depending upon doctors suggestion. If its a permanent tooth then RCT should be done and zirconia or e max crown should be given. If tooth is grossly damaged or there is root fracture in the tooth then it has to be removed and replaced by a good quality implant or a zirconia or emax dental bridge.
Next Steps
Visit dentist for clinical examination and x ray.

Pls attach a picture. Colour won't get back to original self. pulpectomy(type of RCT) needs to be done only if sufficient amount of tooth structure is remaining to withstand the treatmentl, along with tooth coloured crown placement. Or else extraction.

Hi, There is no need to worry . Since he is only 3 years old it is a milk tooth and though technically dead it will be replaced in due course. However you would be well advised to consult a dentist as there are certain procedures like pulpotomy/pulpectomy which will enable the tooth to survive in the mouth till the permanent tooth is ready to take its place.Hope that helps.
