Hello,
Your symptoms of recurrent low-grade fever (99°F) for 2 months along with acute cystitis and echogenic debris in the bladder suggest a persistent urinary tract infection (UTI) or chronic bladder inflammation. While your initial tests (CBC, urine, typhoid, thyroid, ESR) are normal, the ultrasound findings confirm active bladder irritation, which could explain the fever.
Possible Causes:
1. Chronic/Recurrent UTI: Some bacteria may not always show in routine urine tests.
2. Bladder Inflammation (Interstitial Cystitis): Non-infectious irritation causing fever and debris.
3. Prostatitis (if male):Can cause low-grade fever and urinary symptoms.
4. Atypical Infections:TB cystitis or other less common pathogens.
Next Steps:
- Urine Culture & Sensitivity: To identify resistant bacteria.
- Cystoscopy (if needed):To check for bladder abnormalities.
- Prostate Exam (if applicable): To rule out prostatitis.
Immediate Advice:
Hydrate well (3–4L water/day) to flush the bladder.
Avoid caffeine/spicy foods that irritate the bladder.
Complete the prescribed antibiotics (Augmentin) as directed.
