Cyra D , BD is safe?
I have to undergo tooth extraction and implant. Considering my sensitive gastric health, My dentist has recommended me to take Cyra D capsule twice a day for 5 days. Post tooth extraction medicines would include cefakind cv, zerodol sp, dolonxt DT, ketorol DT and rexidine srs mouthwash.
Is it safe to take Cyra D capsule as twice a day? Any side effects of taking it BD for 5 days or a week?

I am Dr. Shamoon. Cyra-D is rabeprazole 20 mg plus domperidone 30 mg in a sustained-release capsule. For your situation - a sensitive stomach plus cefixime and three overlapping painkillers (Zerodol-SP, Dolo-NXT DT, Ketorol DT) around a tooth extraction and implant - taking acid protection is not just safe, it is sensible, because it is the NSAIDs, especially ketorolac and aceclofenac, that cause gastritis and ulcers, not the antibiotic. My honest opinion is that once daily, 30-45 minutes before breakfast, is enough for most people; twice daily for a short 5-day course is still acceptable and is commonly prescribed when several NSAIDs are being used together, so I would not call it unsafe. What genuinely concerns me more than the Cyra-D is the painkiller load: three NSAID-containing tablets in the same course is a lot of stomach and kidney stress for a 43-year-old, and ketorolac in particular should not run beyond about 5 days. The domperidone component is the reason not to stretch it casually - beyond a couple of weeks or at higher doses it can affect heart rhythm (QT) and raise prolactin, so a short defined course is fine, long-term twice-daily use is not.

Stop the medicines and get checked the same day if you develop black tarry stools, vomiting of blood, severe upper abdominal pain, reduced urine output or swelling of the feet, rash or facial swelling, or palpitations/fainting. Do not self-extend Cyra-D beyond the prescribed 5 days because of the domperidone in it, and do not double the painkillers if pain is not settling - inform your dentist instead.

U are on 3 pain killers .... Zerodol sp, dolonxt dt and ketorol dt.... All 3 can increase your gastritis.... Especially along with cefakind cv antibiotic.
If you can avoid pain killers u don't néed cyra D twice
