Contact lens usage
Hello doctors, I've started using contact lens past few months. I usually wear it for 3-4 hrs ans remove it. Recently I started wearing it for almost 10-11hrs and I had to use PC for more than 6 hrs. I noticed that while using PC when I have my contact lens on, it causes irritation sometimes and the vision goes blur. This happens only when I see PC/mobile. I have different power on both the eyes. Right eye(SPH is -0.75, CYL is -0.50, Axis is 90) Left eye( SPH is -1.00, CYL is -0 50, Axis is 60) Currently using monthly disposable Bausch+lomb softlens(hilafilcon B). Please advise on what is the cause of this blurness and what shall I do to avoid it. And if there are any lens brand u can suggest for use.

Hi , this is mainly due to overstraining your eye with over usage of contact lens both leading to dryness and eye fatigueness Follow the following: 1.)20/20/20 rule (Set a timer to remind you to look away every 20 minutes at an object that is about 20 feet away for a full 20 seconds) take short breaks inbetween (every 30mins for 1-2 mins) try to focus distance and near . 2) use lubrication genteal eye drops or refresh tears 4 times a day for month then can tapper 3)drink 4-5 litres of water per day 4) blink voluntarily for a minute like during breaks 5) You can start doing eye exercises as much as possible (10-100) per day (For guidance see in youtube in the name of "PENCIL PUSH UP TEST", "ORTHOPTIC EXERCISES")

It's because of contact lens induced dryness, try to blink more often and use lubricants frequently.

Soft CL should not be worn more than 8 hrs at a stretch. Limit your usage time. Use Any lubricating eye drops and close your eyes for 20 seconds after every 20 minutes while working on computer.

It's because of dryness in the eye.  Please limit your contact lens usage to 8 hours a day. You can use eye drop eyemist 2-3 times a day for a month. While using digital devices, every 20 minutes, take a 20 second break and look at a distant object 20 feet away. Maintain right posture while using computer. Keep yourself hydrated. Blink more often. Sit away from ac and fan. consult sos/local ophthalmologist if symptoms persist or worsen.
