Consultation for mental health
A friend has random mood swings and has difficulty in concentrating. She is generally dull but has episodes of high energy and high optimism. Many times she has discussed about having self doubt and thinks there is no point in living. This has happened for years on and off. Please suggest if a consultation would be appropriate.

I understand your concern towards your friend. She seems to be suffering from depressive symptoms including being moody and dull, concentration difficulties, hopelessness etc. However more clarity is needed regarding her problem to decide on severity of the condition and to rule out bipolarity. She would definitely benefit from a psychiatric consultation. It is easily manageable with appropriate treatment, so that dysfunction due to the same can be reduced and her quality of life will improve. Some counselling sessions along with medical help might be useful for her. I would also be more than happy to help you with that if you are looking for further online assistance. Discussions will be held confidential. You can directly consult with me through Practo as needed. Online chat consultation is available.
