Hello Doctor,
I am facing a concern regarding my body appearance. Recently, I feel like my body is becoming slimmer, even though my weight is within the normal range.
I have undergone several tests, and all reports are normal:
Fasting and Postprandial blood sugar: Normal
Thyroid profile (TSH, T3, T4): Normal
Lipid profile: Normal
Liver Function Test (LFT): Normal
Kidney Function Test (KFT): Normal
eGFR: 129
Despite all these normal results, I feel that my body looks thinner than before.
Could you please guide me ...

I can understand why this is worrying for you. The reassuring part is that your weight and all major investigations are within normal limits.
Sometimes, when reports are normal, the concern may be more about how the body is being perceived rather than an actual medical problem. Stress, anxiety, and increased focus on appearance can make even normal body changes feel very significant.
At 40, mild age-related changes in muscle tone and body composition can also make the body appear slimmer even when weight remains normal.
I would suggest monitoring your weight objectively over a few weeks rather than relying only on appearance, and if the concern continues or is causing significant distress, a detailed consultation can help understand whether this is body image–related anxiety. You may consult me directly on nine eight two six five four five six six zero if needed.
all your major medical reports like Sugar, Thyroid, Liver, and Kidney are completely normal. This means your perfectly fine! As long as your weight is in the Normal BMI range, looking slim is actually a sign of good fitness and a fast metabolism. It is often a sign of a healthy, youthful body. If you feel strong and energetic throughout the day, your body is doing just fine.
Next Steps
If you want to look a bit fuller, add more protein to your diet like paneer, dals, sprouts, eggs, or milk. This helps build healthy muscle.
Hello,
Thank you for sharing your concerns and your test results. It is reassuring that your major organ functions, including your thyroid, liver, kidneys, and blood sugar are all within the normal range.
If your weight remains stable but you feel your body looks 'slimmer,' we are likely looking at a change in body composition rather than actual weight loss. This can happen when there is a decrease in muscle tone or muscle mass, even if your total weight doesn't change.
To help us narrow this down, I would suggest the following:
Monitor Trends: Please keep a weekly record of your weight and waist circumference for the next month. This helps us see if there is an actual physical progression.
Review Activity: Have there been any recent changes in your daily physical activity or exercise routine? A decrease in muscle-strengthening activity can often lead to a 'thinner' appearance.
Nutrition Check: Ensure you are consuming adequate protein and calories. Sometimes, high stress or poor sleep can cause the body to burn muscle for energy even when we feel we are eating enough.
Further Testing: We may eventually look at your Vitamin D and B12 levels, as these are not covered in your current reports and can affect muscle health and energy.
If you notice any new symptoms like excessive fatigue, night sweats, or a genuine drop in your scale weight, please let me know immediately.
