In general, younger the age - more is the need for ACL reconstruction. Also, more active the life style, more is the need of surgery.

Your need for surgery is dependent on what symptoms you will get and what problems you will have in the next few weeks. You may get pain from the lateral meniscus tear, which may need surgery. The ACL may not give you symptoms and you can have proper physiotherapy and rehabilitation, to help with that. If physiotherapy is not effective then surgery is the option

Depends on your symptoms and your level of activity. Can walk normally without ACL but can’t run or play sports. Can lead to further damage as time progresses. In younger would recommend ACL reconstruction to prevent further damage.
