Cold sores on lips
I have got cold sores/herpes blisters on my lower lip. Please advise which ointment i should apply. Thankyou

Herpes labialis-blisters on the lips, oral cavity and constitutional symptoms like fever, headache. U have to be put on oral antiviral medication. Applying a topical ointment would not be sufficient. This condition tends to be recurrent. Precipitating factors are stress, menstrual cycles, UV exposure.... If recurrent, u have to be on a suppressive antiviral dose; so Consult a dermatologist for specific treatment

Acyclovir ointment 2 to 3 times daily for 5 days will heal the blisters.
Next Steps
however if it is recurrent problem Pls visit a dermatologist near you for assessment. regards
