Hi, If you are able to control anxiety on your own and it’s not causing dysfunction, you don’t need psychotherapy and medications. It’s only when anxiety is causing dysfunction in life do we advice psychotherapy and medications. Mild anxiety can be taken care of relaxation excercises alone. Anxiety erupted because of cognitive distortions and other maladaptive style of thinking. Our mind forces us to think that way. So in anxiety, our thinking actually does not depend on us but our mind controls us in a maladaptive way.
