Chronic Anemia and Hypothyroidism
I am 51 years old male. I have chronic Anemia and Hypothyroidism.  My blood and thyroid reports are as follows My hemoglobin is just 8 . TLC 3.8 RBC count is 1.77 , pcv/ hematocrit is 23.10, MCV is 130.60 H, MCH  is 45.40 H, MCHC is 34.70H, RDW is 19.70, Absolute Lymphocytes Count is 928.80 L and Platelet count 66.00L . TSH level is 10.58. I have done this test on 09.05.20 24. My blood Group is A +.   I have made one unit whole blood transfusion on dated 13.05.2024 as per advise of one doctor who is my friend which is not skilled . Now I am feeling little bit ok . Please advise me what I should do for future course of action

You required to go through some investigation to evaluate what is cause of Anemia , as blood transfusion is not a treatment option of Anemia , it is to improve Hb in case of severe anemia or any other urgent need like blood loss, after blood transfusion you're required to go through some basic investigation to need to know what is cause which is causing anemia and treating that cause other wise it is not like that having blood transfusion every time to increase Hb

Sir 1 unit blood donation doesn't cause anemia unless you were already anemic ( doctor should have checked your Hb before your blood donation ideally) Also to get complete picture of anemia get tested for Iron profile Serum ferritin Vit b12 Peripheral blood smear And thyroid problem need thorough evaluation for holistic healing.

From the reports you have shared it looks like a case of Megaloblastic anaemia. It could be due to Vit B 12 deficiency or it could be Pernicious anaemia. Please get your Complete Health Package done from a reputed Laboratory and consult a General Physician with the reports.

Do  peripheral smear and serum B12,folate levels,MMA and serum iron profile to determine the cause of the anemia.
