Chest pain
Since 1 year I have been experiencing severe chest heaviness and upper abdomen. It feels someone crushing my organs inside esp my heart.. it goes to left arm n throat also Now been to ER around 10 times n everytime ecg is normal. Even got echo done but it's fine. I have developed an obsession to get ECG done every time pain strikes.. since past 1 week I have got 3 ecg done....No again I'm having a pen episode. If it was day time I would have rushed to the emergency immediately and got it done but it's night and I don't want to trouble anyone What shud I do? Am fed up of living like this All my friends laugh at me coz they don't even know what ecg is... since I have mild ocd also so cud this pains be anxiety induced As my cardio said if it was heart it wud have shown up by now so it's anxiety which brings on acidity n muscle tension n that creates pain

It can be anxiety disorder which needs to be treated holistically and not just doing repetitive ecgs.... It can be well treated with counseling sessions and medication if required.

It is surely anxiety but have you tried to find it's root cause even after your cardiologist has suggested it to be psychological. Try to pen down your thoughts randomly if you cannot locate the right reason for your anxiety else if you know try to find suitable solution and if there is no known or under your control solution accept and leave things on time. make some lifestyle changes or seek professional help. Have faith your body is healthy if the doctor is saying so but please work on your mental heath.

Hello .. I understand your physiological and psychological concerns, but if doctor has said that there is no physiological issue try to relax. Regarding ocd I would say don't assume anything because these symptoms may indicate something else also in that case consult a therapist for better help. Stay happy and healthy.

Hi... If your doctors (cardiologist/physician) have came to the conclusion that physiologically everything is normal and it is only psychological (anxiety induced), than you only need mental health treatment. It involves both Therapy/Counselling and Medication (if required). The way you have explained, it looks like a case of hypochondria but you have mentioned OCD. Is it a diagnosis provided by a Psychiatrist or you are just using it for explaining your obsessive compulsive nature about your health condition?
Next Steps
Consult a Psychologist for Counselling and a Psychiatrist (if required).
