Hi, My father has developed a pain in right arm that keeps moving from upper arm to forearm and fingers. Upon consultation with some doctors it was diagnosed as cervical pain. Even after a month of medication his pain is getting worse.
Which doctor should we consult? Orthopedist or neurologist?

According to the history provided here, it looks most likely a cervical pain that is due to intervertebral disc prolapse ( more commonly knows as slip disc) over the neck which is pressing upon the sensory nerve of the upper arm(it originates through the neck and courses through the upper arm), and hence causing the pain. By taking the appropriate prescribed medications only, there would be not a complete relief from the same as the medication will only relief the spasm of the muscle and decrease the inflammation of the surrounding soft tissues and hence relieve the pain temporarily. For a better control of the pain, you should also include certain exercises in the regime that strengthen the muscles around and relief the pain. Also adding the medication for the nerve regeneration, will make sure the damaged part of the nerve is repaired well.
Since there is a muscle spasm and a nerve involvement , the neck being a really important and delicate structure, should be given a proper immobilization(rest) in a hard cervical collar so as to aid in the healing.
You can always consult in case of any further issues or clarifications.
Next Steps
Frequent change of postures of neck, gentle exercises
Health Tips
Xray and mri of the cervical spine needs to be done and shown to an orthopaedic surgeon
