Cavity pain
Patient have a root canal session scheduled to tomorrow evening. She have been prescribed painkillers Ketorol DT but for severe pain Doctor suggested Ultracet tab.. though the pain is not coming down after taking both tablets. Please advise anything to relieve the pain, also is hot compress advisable on the ear/neck area to get rid off pain..

Hello.. Welcome to practo..
I personally advice you not to do warm or hot compress..
Just take medications prescribed.. Avoid lying that side as base.. Avoid hot and cold foods...
The pain will get relieved.. Avoid touching the dental caries region with your tongue..
In case of severe pain, you can use anesthetic gel.. But that just give you relief for few minutes..

Hello mam
The pain in tooth which you are talking about is due to infection or the decay in tooth.
The caries continuously damaging your living portion that is pulp.
You can immediately start antibiotics prescribed by your dentist to reduce the infection.
And go for your root canal treatment.

Pain is due to infected vital pulp remaining within canals.take antibiotics along with analgesics to relieve pain.get rct done at the earliest.
