Can a vitamin deficiency cause carpal tunnel in young people?
I haven't been eating well for 2-3 months and I work as a software developer and type a lot. I don't have a nice table and chair setup and a few days ago I noticed a slight inflammation in my right thumb at the base where it joins the palm. It hurts when I type or lift something heavy
Could this be carpal tunnel?

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common repetitive stress injury in desk workers and laptop users. It happens due to the wrist being in odd postures and continuous typing. You seem to be having pain at the 1st CMC joint. This can be due to the repeated use of space bar while working on a laptop. As you know that you are working in a non ergonomic environment you are exposed to multiple risk factors. In addition the mobile use increases the risk manifold.
