Your symptoms: • Burning sensation in mouth • Red inflamed mucosa • No visible ulcers • Heals and reappears • Present for 2–3 weeks This pattern most commonly suggests:
Next Steps
✅ Step 1: Check These Tests • Serum Vitamin B12 • Serum Ferritin • Serum Iron • Hb • Fasting blood sugar • Zinc level (if possible) Given your history, B12 deficiency is strongly suspected. ⸻ ✅ Step 2: If B12 is Low Better treatment than Becosule: • Methylcobalamin 1500 mcg daily OR • B12 injections weekly × 4 weeks (if very low) ⸻ ✅ Step 3: Symptomatic Relief You can try: • Hexidine (chlorhexidine) mouthwash twice daily for 5 days • Topical oral gel like Mucopain gel (for burning relief) Avoid: • Spicy food • Citrus • Very hot beverages ⸻
Health Tips
✔ Increase hydration ✔ Avoid toothpaste with strong mint/whitening agents ✔ Use mild toothpaste ✔ Manage stress ✔ Check thyroid if not done Important: Burning mouth + red mucosa + prior low B12 → strongly suggests nutritional deficiency. Becosule alone is usually insufficient if levels are very low. ⸻ This is unlikely to be something dangerous, but persistent oral burning needs evaluation. Because of your previous lab history, I strongly recommend repeating B12 and iron profile soon and treating properly if deficient. If you share: • Your recent Hb • Any diabetes? • Any gastric symptoms? I can refine the guidance further.

Dear Patient, Your symptoms of burning sensation in the mouth, redness on lips, tongue, and floor of mouth without ulcers suggest oral mucositis, vitamin deficiency, or irritation from food or stress. Since you have been taking Becosule (multivitamins) for 2 weeks without improvement, it may indicate that deficiency is not the main cause or the dose/type may not be sufficient. What you should do - Avoid spicy, acidic, or very hot foods that can aggravate burning - Maintain good oral hygiene with a soft-bristled toothbrush - Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol or smoking - Use non-medicated soothing mouth rinses like saline or plain water Medicines - If symptoms persist,  based on blood tests - Blood tests for Vitamin B12, iron, folate, and zinc can help identify underlying deficiencies consult me urgently - Persistent burning for more than 2–3 weeks without improvement - Pain interfering with eating or drinking - Appearance of white or yellow patches, ulcers, or bleeding For further guidance and personalized treatment you may consult me on Practo anytime.
