Hello sir,     First of all whenever you say surgery post all your x-rays so that we understand the situation completely. 5-6 months is good time for recovering. But you will face problems like swollen ankle, pain and difficulty in weight bearing. It's best you avoid it for this year. Further try consulting your operating surgeon as he's the best person to decide. All the best

As per the normal criteria it takes 6-8 weeks for a bone to unite. But as in early stages it is a weak bone so weight bearing is allowed but with zero vigrous activities. Allow the bone to heal properly till an extent of 8-12 weeks and make sure u take a proper diet for the same to happen.
Next Steps
Start your physiotherapy asap which will lead to ealry and correct mobility of joints without any muscle atrophy.
Health Tips
You can go for a tour but for long journey by foot will depends upon your bone healing. Keep in touch with your orthopedic and physiotherapist. They will guide you through everything. Wish you speedy recovery.
