I have high hemoglobin 18.1,
When I went for blood donation for the 1st time , they said your blood is not suitable for donation , why did they rejected my Blood ? What is the maximum hb level for accepting my Blood?

You have a condition called Polycythemia, which is a laboratory finding in which there is an increased number of red blood cells along with an accompanying increase in the concentration of hemoglobin in the peripheral blood.

Blood with high haemoglobin is to be discarded.Not meant for blood transfusion.Yours being high haemoglobin,important for you to get one pint of blood ( around 500 ml)out twice a year.
People with hemoglobin level 12.5 gm -18.5gm are eligible for blood donation.There are other reasons apart from hemoglobin level for the blood donation to be rejected.
