Yes due to the infection it was bleeding, first the Infection needs to be controlled by antibiotics before the scalling to be done but as the scalling has already been done then now antibiotics and proper mouthwash and oral care needs to be done till the Infection is cleared. Multi Vitamin (B12, Vitamin C etc) intake may also be necessary. So Why the bleeding happens during or after scalling? 1. Present in Infection 2. Bleeding disorder (such as haemophilia, purpura haemophilia, purpura leukemia) 3. Immune deficiency (Such as AIDS) 4. Deficiency of haemoglobin 5. Prolonged bleeding and clotting time. 6. Poor oral hygiene

In case of gingivitis, bleeding does occur while scaling/ cleaning of teeth. Don't worry. Maintain oral hygiene. Warm saline rinses thrice a day.
