Biovac vaccination is to get protect against Hepatitis A. It's a 2 dose vaccination with minimum of 6 months gap. With single dose you get protection against Hepatitis A, to further improve the immunity, 2nd dose is given. It's better to take the second dose.
Next Steps
If there is 6 months of gap from your 1st dose, you can take your second dose of Biovac A
Health Tips
If you had any allergic reactions to the first dose of vaccination, then second dose is avoided.

Usually it's been given as a single dose, but herd immunity is not being developed with single dose. Another shot is needed to develop herd immunity. U can take another shot after 6 months

Hepatitis A vaccines like Biovac-A are usually given in two doses, 6 months apart, for long-term protection. A single dose can give some protection, but the second dose is important to ensure lasting immunity. So you should plan for the booster at 6 months after the first shot. Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. I understand your concern — it can be confusing when different information is given about vaccines, and it’s important to be clear about the correct schedule for your protection. ✅ Advices • Always confirm the exact vaccine name and type, since “Biovac” is a brand name that may be used for different vaccines (like Hepatitis B, Typhoid, etc.). • Most vaccines have a well-defined schedule — some are single dose, some require 2–3 doses. • Keep your vaccination card or record safe so future doses can be planned accurately. 🔍 What to Monitor • Check if you were given the vaccine card or doctor’s note at the time of injection. • Look out for minor side effects like pain at injection site, mild fever, or fatigue (these are normal). 💊 Management If you were told it’s a single-dose vaccine, do not worry. But since some versions of Biovac (depending on whether it was for Hepatitis B or Typhoid) require multiple doses, it is best to reconfirm the exact vaccine type with your prescribing doctor or vaccination center. Avoid taking an extra dose without medical guidance. 🚨 When to Consult a Doctor Immediately • If you develop high fever, rash, or severe allergic reaction after vaccination. • If you notice persistent swelling, redness, or pain at the injection site. • If you are unsure about the vaccine schedule and need to plan catch-up doses. ⚖️ Every vaccine brand and schedule can differ, so accurate advice depends on the exact Biovac formulation you received. 👉 You can reach out to me directly for this case, and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one-on-one consultation, where you’ll receive: ✔️ Personalized vaccine schedule clarification ✔️ Guidance on whether another dose is required ✔️ Long-term preventive care planning Take care, wishing you good health. Best regards, Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician
