Hello , It’s good that you have gotten scaling done. Scaling 1/year is absolutely necessary, so good job on taking the first step. Secondly, to protect your teeth and keep it in healthy condition, follow these steps: 1. Brush 2 times everyday (morning + night after food) . For 2-3 minutes with a soft bristle toothbrush and toothpaste (you can choose any toothpaste with fluoride, example- Colgate, oral b etc) Procedure for brushing- you can Google ‘Modified bass method of tooth brushing ’ . You can follow this method. 2. Flossing in between teeth using a dental floss before brushing will help prevent food buildup and decay Procedure for flossing can be found on Google/YouTube 3. Rinse your mouth with water after every meal and stay hydrated 4. Reduce eating sugary food and drinks, try consuming them with your meals and not in between meals 5. Get a dental check up and cleaning 1 Time every year If These steps are followed consistently everyday the chances of decay reduces a lot. A MOUTHWASH is recommended once the above steps are followed. *Mouthwash is a supplement and long term use should be avoided(unless and until prescribed by a dentist)
