Benadryl is to be taken for 3-5 days. Nothing to worry for that duration. More than that, try yo reduce doses of Olanzapine and Librium as both have adverse effects in long term( more than 6 month duration)
It can add to the sedation. Librium is a benzodiazepine not used for Bipolar disorder. I suggest you take a second opinion from an astute psychiatrist. Good luck
Usually when an individual is on multiple medications, there always remains a chance of drug interactions. However, with the current medications that you’re taking, it is highly unlikely that Benadryl will cause a harmful interaction.
However, be aware of early signs of worsening of your bipolar disorder.
Next Steps
If there is any further concern, kindly get evaluated by a psychiatrist of your choice online/offline.
Olanzapine, librium( chlordiazepoxide) and benadryl( dextromethorphan) all have side effect of sedation/sleepiness and dizziness. When taken together , the sedation and dizziness can be enhanced to dangerous levels. I would not advice you to take bendryl along with your current medications. Better go for other non sedating medications for cough. Also Librium is a benzodiazepine and can cause dependence if taken long term.
Next Steps
Please discuss with your Psychiatrist about alternative non sedating cough medication and to add any non dependent medication if you are having sleep difficulties instead of librium
