A forehead bump can sometimes cause swelling around the eye because the fluid gradually moves downward with gravity. If your baby is otherwise active, feeding well, behaving normally, has not vomited repeatedly, has no excessive sleepiness, seizures, loss of consciousness, or abnormal movements, it is generally reassuring.
Continue to observe the baby closely for the next 24–48 hours. If any warning signs develop (repeated vomiting, increasing drowsiness, persistent crying, seizures, difficulty walking, unequal pupils, or worsening swelling around the eye), visit the emergency department immediately.
From what you’ve described, it does not sound serious, and there is no need to feel guilty—this is a very common accident in toddlers. If you’re still worried or the eye swelling increases, have the baby examined by a pediatrician.
Hello,
When did the baby fall from the bed?
It is reassuring that your baby does not have any concerning symptoms at present. Regarding the swelling around the eye, immediately after the fall there would have been a generalised swelling involving the forehead and the area around the eye. As the swelling subsides, it may become localized around the eye, which can be expected.
However, please continue to observe your baby closely for the next 48 hours. Watch for warning signs such as repeated vomiting, bleeding from the nose or ears, excessive sleepiness or lethargy, inconsolable crying or unusual irritability, seizures, difficulty waking the child, increase in the size of the swelling, or increasing redness or swelling around the eye.
If any of these symptoms develop, or if you have any concerns, please consult your paediatrician or visit the nearest emergency department immediately..
This is usually normal. After a forehead bump, swelling can move to the eyelid due to gravity. If your baby is active, feeding well, and has no vomiting, excessive sleepiness, or abnormal behavior, just observe for 24–48 hours and seek medical care if any warning signs develop.
Greetings
It is very common for swelling from a forehead bump to migrate downward due to gravity, which often causes mild puffiness or bruising around the eye.Since your baby is acting normally, eating well, and following a regular routine, this reaction appears consistent with a minor head trauma. However, please double-check your child's physical appearance and stay alert for at least 24 to 48 hours following the fall.Seek immediate medical attention if you notice concerning changes like vomiting, extreme drowsiness, uneven pupils, or unusual behavior.
Hi
If the baby is not having danger signs such as vomiting, loss of consciousness, bleeding from ear, nose and throat then it is unlikely to be anything serious. But if swelling over eye increases or child is having any of the above symptoms, then you visit hospital immediately.
How many days back was the fall .usual danger signs are any vomiting more than 3 episode ,loos of consciousness, seizures ,ear, nose mouth bleeding ,swelling which is increasing in size ,irritability of baby ..
If baby is normal now .none if theses signs are there .mild swelling around eye which can be observed . In case any increase in swelling meet a nearby paediatrician
First of all don’t worry
As from your information- no vomiting , no bleeding from nose, ear : no other symptoms
After fall swelling around will happen around eyes
It’s better if you consult near by pediatrician for once eye check up
