Hi,
My son is around 3 years old and has a development delay. For a few weeks we have noticed that he put pressure on one corner of the eye with finger and then moved his both eyes to one corner and focused on objects which are little far. We visited the paediatric ophthalmologist today and he told us there is refractive error in both eyes and the dilated eye exam needs to be done after that he will be prescribed the number. Also, My kid had Dengue Shock Syndrome when he was 4-5 months old.
How much do we need to worry about refractive error issues? Does he need to wear spect's lifetime?
Does Dengue Shoch Syndrome have anything to do with this refractive error or my child's development delay?
Also, he has some redness in the eyes, so the doctor prescribed moxicip d, moxicip, pataone eye drops for one week. Are these safe? And Does both adults and children both have the same drops?

Dengue shock syndrome has no direct effect on refractive error.glassesshe can wear Uptil 17 yrs after that he can go for lasic surgeries to get rid of spectacles.moxicip drops are antibiotic drops and yes it is same for adult bacterial infection and kids bacterial infection.You can take Homeopathic medicines help to boost his immunity and to stop further deterioration.Eye examination is must even when u take homeopathy.

Adding to that. Your son will, require a multi approach treatment and for a considerable time. Do not expect an overnight change. Also a complete cure may not be possible always and the first intention of the treatment should be better health.

There are multiple questions here. Let's answer them one by one.
1) yes, refractive errors at this age is worrisome as the child has to wear specs for lifetime and the numbers keep increasing with the age and it becomes difficult to see without glasses.
2) Having dengue shock syndrome at the if 4-5 months definitely has its implications on the future health. Having said that, it is not possible to establish direct connection between the dengue and refractive errors but it can also not be completely discarded.
3) About allopathic antibiotics prescribed. Yes they have side which is wel known. But they are less damaging then the infection. But it does not mean they are safe
What is the alternative... I suggest homoeopathic treatment.
Not replacing allopathic treatment with homoeopathic medicines but I would suggest supplementing initially. Once you see results gradually allopathic treatment can be discontinued and required less in future.

The drops prescribed are antibiotic and won't help in long run. Developmental delay can show significant improvement with homeopathy.
