Asthma with IgE level 146
M an asthma patient. I was diagnosed as Brittle asthma in 2010 but have never been given any life long medication. Recently I came to know that lifelong precautionary medication is given to a Brittle Asthma patient. I have had around 5-6 severe episodes in last 10 years in which I had to be taken to hospital for giving oxygen or for nebulization. I have got a few tests repeated. My IgE level is 146. What does this show? Should I do some other test to confirm If m actually brittle Asthmatic.

Ige levels are good not to worry about. There is no lifelong medication for your condition. You should routinely go for pft and take proper precautions to prevent.
