Why you want to give ashwagandha to him? If it is for rasayan, then for different conditions and systems we have different rasayan dravyas in ayurveda. It is not like that ashwagandha will be good in all conditions.
As hehas multiple and chronic health issues, he needs proper evaluation before starting anything. Please consult a good ayurvedic physician before starting it.
