Dear Dr i have started to take ashwagandha from 2 days 2 times a day now for anxiety and panic attacks how long can we take these tablets is it safe to take for long term how long can we take? or can we atleast take it for 3 months? I have sleeping problems i wake up in middle of the night 2-3 times atleast that too i don't have habit of sleeping in day time, have anxiety, panic attacks often.. My friend had similar sleep issues he said himalaya ashwagandha worked wonders for him.. Plz reply

Mr- no doubt it's a good medicine but u should talk to a doctor before starting any medicine. One should take proper history for that .u can contact me on practo also or online. We should start proper treatment so that u can get good results earlier. Thanks

Ashwagandha is a very good ayurvedic medicine. But I don't believe in "One Size Fits All", that's why I prefer conducting Prakriti Diagnosis and evaluation of patients and their problems. Every individual has his unique prakriti, doshas and severity of problems, which may differ to one patient to another. That is the reason a unique customized treatment plan is needed for such a patients rather than a stereotype treatment approach. Aswagandha is safe to take for long-term,but for Ur complaint I don't think it wud be sufficient,for lack of sleep in Ayurveda effective other medcne also thre.Reduce stress nd try to start yoga or meditation.do let me know Ur complete history will guide wth medcation.

Ashwagandha(Withenia somnifera)is safe herbal Ayurvedic medicine,just like Ginsang, and food supplement ,tonic, Aphrodisiac etc, U can take long time
