As a parent i have bipolar and i m worried by offspring can also have it. How to reduce this worry. How to catch the disese in its initial stage is it important for me and my kid for regular psychiatric visit.

Hello, Ur worry is quite valid.. Bipolar affective disorder can increase the risk in offsprings by 6 to 8 times, but transmissibility is NOT 100%.. So pls look at the brighter side..
Since there is existing genetic risk, other contributors like stress, drug abuse etc should be totally avoided. Unfortunately it cannot be prevented altogether but precautions can be taken..
